We rode all the way up along the Grand Canal to Qingsha Park, and found this Japanese restaurant there on Lishui Rd. A very queit small road, parallel to Shangtang Rd. and in its west. Hatsune is one of the 2-floor ancient buildings there with stylish decor inside where you can get the nice scene along the canal and the Qingsha old town as well.
Hatsune is well known as a good Japanese fusion restaurant for its innovative sushi and rolls. They have a large menu of sushi and their sushi is a bit tangier, mustardier dressed than traditional Japanese one. The food is not cheap, but worth the price. We two ordered agedashi tofu(fired tofu-15rmb), Karaagea(fried boneless chicken-I forgot how much), and assorted sashimi combo (for 4 persons including 8×2 sashimi and 2 sushi/rolls-283rmb) and a bottle of sake. All those cost about 325rmb, a small mousse was served for free and I was too full to stand up when we left. You have enough time one dish before the next one comes. All the dishes are delicately made with fresh ingredients.
Attentive service. A separated room on the 2nd floor for teppanyaki. Not easy to get taxi around.
